WE USE THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS FOR ACTIONS HAPPENING NOW

And we form the Present Continous Tense with:

Subject + To Be +  Verb ending in -ing

Review, correction and... Present Continuous for future! (2º ESO)

Hi kids!

• Today let's start watching this video that I made to review the COMPARATIVES and SUPERLATIVES (veo que algunos aún tenéis problemas con ellos y los confundís. Espero que explicándolo yo misma lo entendáis algo mejor). Puedes verlo cuantas veces necesites pinchando aquí.
• Here you are the correction of last Friday's activity of translation. PLEASE, CORRECT IT IN YOUR NOTEBOOKS:

1. David is more attractive than Mark.
2. Maria has got bigger eyes than Kevin.
3. Diana is the most cheerful person in the class.
4. Alex never talks in the class. He is the shiest.
5. Sara is very pretty. I agree, you’re right.
6. Do you think I look like Shakira, the singer? I don’t think so. She is older than you.
7. This film is funnier than that film.
8. Peter  is the best in Maths. Sam is the worst.

• And last, but not least (y por último pero no menos imporante) today let's see a new grammar topic: PRESENT CONTINUOUS FOR FUTURE. ¿Recordáis el Present Continuous, ese tiempo verbal formado por TO BE + Verb ending in -ING que se usa normalmente para explicar lo que estoy haciendo en este momento? Pues resulta que también tiene una utilidad para expresar acciones futuras. Copy this in your notebooks:

We use the Present Continuous to talk about future plans or arrangements (usamos el present continuous para hablar sobre planes futuros). We use time expressions for future:

→tomorrow (mañana)

→next Monday/year/week (el próximo lunes/año/ semana....)

→this afternoon/evening... (esta tarde/noche...)

→at 5 o'clock/ at 6.30.... (a las 5/ a las 6.30...)

→On Monday/Tuesday....(el lunes/martes...)

To form the present continuous we use:

verb To Be + Verb ending in -ing

(We are playing tennis this afternoon)
